Are you having trouble controlling your reactions?

Learning how to identify and manage emotions takes a set of skills most of us don’t learn from our families. If you struggle with stuffing or controlling anger, you’re not alone.

When anger is a problem you find yourself…

  • Getting defensive quickly

  • Taking what your partner says personally

  • Reacting over the little things

  • Saying mean things without intending to cause harm

  • Stuffing your anger because you’re afraid you can’t control it

  • Feeling sacred that you are going to lose your relationship if nothing changes

When you grow up witnessing rage you probably vowed never to be “be like them” but found yourself doing the exact same behaviors.

That’s not your fault.

Growing up seeing unhealthy anger and abuse makes a lasting impression. Children are sponges and take in everything around them so when the adults model unhealthy anger, we learn it too. Or, we do the opposite and stuff our feelings in an attempt to avoid anger which doesn’t work either.

Stuffing anger is just as destructive as rage because those feelings create significant internal stress. There are many ways indirect anger hurts you in relationships.

  • Hidden resentments make it harder to work through conflict.

  • Sarcastic or indirect comments that leak out when you least expect it

  • Guilt trips or silent treatment makes the other person feel devalued

Maybe that’s why you’re here!

Managing anger alone doesn’t work

Does this sound like you?

You've looked online but all you find are groups related to domestic violence and that's not you. Reading a book isn't cutting it. You need someone to walk you through it.

Maybe you've even tried therapy, but you didn't get the skills you needed to manage emotions effectively. Finding the right help has become a frustrating process and you don't have the time to keep looking.

Trying to manage your emotions without the right tools will likely frustrate you even more.

This is why most people who need help managing anger and frustration don't get the results they are looking for.

Without a clear, step by step plan with support and guidance, it's easy to give up.

This is a problem that doesn’t get talked about openly. Most people feel uncomfortable talking to family and friends about it.
